    Vintage matchbox from the famous Benihana of Tokyo Restaurant in New York City. There are 2 of these matchboxes available, both lightly used with 1-3 matches missing and the striker strip with a few scuffs.

     

    The front of the matchbox features the Benihana of Tokyo wordmark and red flower logo. The back highlights each of the cities where there are Benihana restaurants, 24 in total including Atlanta, Las Vegas, Miami and Portland. One side of the box reads the restaurant's contact information.

     

    Benihana is a famous American restaurant brand started by Hiroaki Aoki in New York City in 1964. It introduced the concept of hibachi, which originated in Japan in the 1940s, to America and other countries.
