Vintage Carillon Hotel Matchbook
Vintage matchbook from the iconic Carillon Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida. There are 7of these matchbooks available, 4 of which have never been used and 3 of which have been lightly used (1-3 matches missing per book). The matchbook cover's front features "The Carillon" wordmark and boasts an oceanfront location between 68th and 69th streets. Inside, amentities are listed: "completely air conditioned, 750 feet of oceanfront, 620 elegant rooms with private bath, 2 pools - private beach, 21 inch TV in every room, expansive sports area, parking on premises, solaria - shopping arcade, 3 dining rooms - cocktail lounge." The back of the cover is black with the Carillon "C" and gold and blue details.
The Carillon Hotel opened in 1958 and was a Miami Beach staple until it closed its doors in the 1980s. The Carillon was designed by Normal Giller, the celebrated father of Miami Modern architecture, who was also responsible for the Diplomat Hotel and other properities throughout south Florida.
