Vintage 1981 Waldorf-Astoria New York Golden Anniversary Matchbook
Vintage matchbook from the iconic Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City, celebrating its golden anniversary / fiftieth year. There is only one of this matchbook available, and it is unused.
The front of the white matchbook features the hotel's wordmark and an illustration of its building as well as the Hilton logo. It also reads "golden anniversary," "our fiftieth year," and "1931-1981." Inside is a full set of gold-tipped matches. On the back, is the Waldorf-Astoria logo with "New York" written underneath. The print on the front and back of the matchbook is a metallic gold.
The Waldorf-Astoria is one of Manhattan's most notable hotels and reopened in 1931 following the merger of the Waldorf Hotel and Astoria Hotel.
